SugarSync was created to continuously keep data files in sync across multiple platforms, both for ease of access and backup purposes. Carbonite also has business and server backup solutions. SpiderOak is an online backup provider designed with a strong focus on privacy and security. Whats the difference between Backblaze, Dropbox, Probax, and SugarSync. Livedrive is an online backup service that also offers collaboration and sync capabilities. I can select which folders or files on my computer I want to sync to the cloud. Also CP allowed us to easily recover from a cryptowall infection (in less than 2 hours) due to the versioning. Best Cloud Storage & Backup: Crashplan vs Backblaze vs Carbonite vs iDrive vs. SugarSync is very similar to both of these services above with a Carbonite like feature. I am not as familiar with the command line in CP, but I do know that at work we can monitor and control virtually everything through a graphical interface, including getting various stats. SugarSync is a bit more expensive than SpiderOak for 100GB/month, but is less expensive for 250GB (21/month vs. I switched from spideroak to crashplan at home as well. We have run it locally (we have a local CP server instead of using their cloud) for a couple of years now. CrashPlanPROe is an excellent product for business (enterprise version). I am currently using Crashplan as my backup option. I have used spideroak for years and up until several weeks ago would have recommended this as your best option. You can access files through your web browser or share them with anyone else in the same way dont worry though, other people can only see files you. Spideroak is very good in terms of retention and ease of use with command line options. I do NOT recommend the vanilla version of dropbox as a backup because it is not a true backup at all. ![]()
